How it works

From weight to a daily bowl

01 · Start with weight

Body weight is the biggest driver of how much energy a dog needs each day — so we start there.

02 · Adjust for life & activity

Puppies burn far more per kilo; seniors and low-key dogs need less. Age and activity fine-tune the number.

03 · Get a daily portion

We turn calories into grams and cups of dry food, split across two meals — ready to measure out.

FAQ

Feeding questions

How many meals a day?

Two evenly-spaced meals suit most adult dogs. Puppies usually need three to four smaller meals.

My food has different calories

This assumes about 3.5 kcal per gram of dry food. Check your bag's kcal and adjust — wet food is far less energy-dense.

My dog is gaining or losing weight

Nudge the amount by about 10% and re-check body condition every couple of weeks. Your vet can set a healthy target weight.

Do treats count?

Yes — every treat and chew. Keep them under about 10% of daily calories, or portions quietly creep up.
