Accessibility

The short version

• We want BreedQuest to work for everyone, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, need larger text, or prefer high contrast.
• We aim to meet WCAG 2.1 level AA and the European standard EN 301 549 — the benchmarks named by the European Accessibility Act.
• This is an honest self-assessment, not yet an independent audit. If something is hard to use, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix it.

Our commitment

BreedQuest is operated by Finday B.V. We are committed to making our website (breedquest.com), our web app (app.breedquest.com), and our iOS app usable by people with disabilities, in line with the European Accessibility Act (Directive (EU) 2019/882) and its national transpositions.

Conformance status

We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA and with EN 301 549. As of the date above, the website and web app are partially conformant: most of the standard is met, and the points we know still fall short are listed under "Known limitations" below. This status is based on our own evaluation, not yet on a formal third-party audit.

What we have done

• Colour and contrast are measured, not eyeballed. Body and interface text meet AA contrast in both the light (Ivory) and dark (Midnight) themes, and a light/dark switch is offered.
• Colour is never the only signal. Meaning that could be lost to colour blindness is also carried in text or symbols (for example, rarity shows a gem symbol and a written label, not just a hue).
• Clear structure. Each page has one main heading, a meaningful heading order, HTML landmarks (header, navigation, main, footer), a "skip to content" link for keyboard users, and a correct lang attribute on every page and locale.
• Keyboard and screen readers. Interactive controls are reachable by keyboard and carry accessible names (icon buttons, the language switcher, share buttons, and forms are labelled); the iOS app's scan flow is described for VoiceOver.
• Text alternatives. Every meaningful image has descriptive alternative text.
• Motion and text size. We honour the system "reduce motion" setting, use scalable text, and the iOS app supports Dynamic Type; touch targets are at least 44px.

Known limitations

We are still working on the following, and we welcome reports of anything else:

• Some illustrative images carry concise alternative text that could be richer.
• Parts of the experience rely on third parties we do not fully control (for example App Store badges and any embedded partner content).
• The full text of this and our other legal pages is currently published in English while localised versions are prepared.
• We have not yet completed an independent accessibility audit; when we do, we will update this statement.

Enforcement

The European Accessibility Act is enforced by a designated authority in each EU country. If you contact us about an accessibility problem and are not satisfied with our response, you can raise it with the market-surveillance or accessibility authority responsible where you live. Contact us and we will point you to the right body.

How we prepared this statement

This statement was prepared by BreedQuest on the "last updated" date above, based on a self-evaluation of breedquest.com and app.breedquest.com against WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549. It is reviewed alongside our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use, and will be updated as the product changes and after a formal audit.

Compatibility

The website is built to work with current versions of the major browsers (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge) on desktop and mobile, together with their built-in assistive technologies such as VoiceOver, TalkBack, and screen magnifiers. Very old browsers may not support every feature.
