State of the Dogs
The flagship read on the dogs people actually live with — which breeds, at what size, and how both differ from one place to the next. Built from anonymous, aggregated app scans, explained in the methodology.
The first State of the Dogs report publishes when the BreedQuest app launches in 2027 and the first scans are in. This page is the report itself, standing empty on purpose: the sections it will carry, the charts it will fill, and the citation each will keep — published now so the method behind it can be checked before a single number exists. There are no figures on this page yet, and we will not invent any.
1. The breed mix
Which breeds do people actually live with? This section will rank breeds by their share of scans and show how that ranking shifts year on year — the most-scanned breeds, the ones climbing, and the long tail of rare ones. Read it as popularity among scanned dogs, not as a count of animals in the country.
2. Size and shape
How big are the dogs around us, really? Each identified breed carries an estimated adult size band, so this section will show how scans split across small, medium, large and giant — a check on whether the dogs people live with match the dogs people talk about.
3. Where the differences are
The same breed can be everywhere in one city and a rare sight in another. This section will map breed share by region — country by country, and city by city where enough scans exist to do so without exposing anyone — so a breed that is ordinary at home and unusual elsewhere shows up as exactly that.
