How long is a dog pregnant?
A dog is pregnant for about 63 days from ovulation, and roughly 58 to 68 days counting from a single mating. This tool estimates from the mating date, so treat the due date as a window.
When can the pregnancy be confirmed?
An ultrasound can confirm it from around day 21–25, and an X-ray can count the babies from about day 45, once their skeletons show. Your vet is the reliable source.
When should I call the vet?
Book a check early to confirm and plan. Call sooner if there's a discharge, distress or loss of appetite — and if the due window passes with no birth, or labour stalls, treat it as urgent.
