What cookies are
Cookies are small pieces of data a website stores in your browser. We use the word loosely here to cover cookies and similar browser storage (such as localStorage), which is what we actually use.
What we use today
- breedquest.com (this site): your theme (light/dark) and language/region choice, kept in your browser's local storage. Purely functional — it never leaves your device and identifies nothing about you.
- app.breedquest.com (the web app): a session token that keeps you signed in. Strictly necessary to provide the service; removed when you sign out.
- The BreedQuest iOS app: no cookies and no third-party tracking SDKs. Its data practices are covered by the Privacy Policy.
Advertising and affiliate links
BreedQuest is funded by respectful ads and partner links. Today this website serves no advertising cookies. If a future advertising partner needs to set cookies on this site, we will name the partner here, link their privacy policy, and ask for your consent first where the law requires it (e.g. EU ePrivacy and GDPR).
Partner ("affiliate") links take you to external shops that set their own cookies under their own policies once you leave our site. Partner links are always labeled.
Your choices
Your browser lets you inspect, block, or clear cookies and site storage at any time. Blocking our functional storage only resets your theme and language preference. If a consent banner is introduced with advertising, you'll be able to change your choice on this page at any time.
